Blog about what you know.

I know about living with a Motorcycle fanatic. I know about being a girl on two wheels. I know what’s it like to be the only one that can’t pee on the side of the road. I know what its like to travel through 2 countries, 4 states and 3 provinces with 3 guys. I know how to change the oil and spark plugs. I know what a torque wrench is and how to use it.

I know there are A LOT of female riders, young and old, but I haven’t found many in my circles and want that to change.

I also know about writing (and doodling).

So this is a blog about me, my bike and my husband. Our lives revolve around motorcycles… the underlying theme of our wedding and the focus of decor; motorcycles is what we do.

Me (Melanie) am 29 years old. I am a creative writer. I love running, rolling and riding. The past year has been all about change, we bought a house, planned a wedding and realized we are ACTUALLY adults (scary thought). I can be found sniffing around the gym at anytime and am often lost in thought.

Richard (DH) is 27 years old (yup, got myself a YOUNG one). He is a pipefitter FULL time, but a motorcycle mechanic the rest of the time. He rebuilds and repairs motorcycles in his spare time. We joke that there is a race going on in his head at anytime… only interupted by boobs. He loves MotoGP and the Haydens. Motorcycles define him.

My Motorcycle (Zenobia, although I forget to call her that ALL the time) is a 2000 SV650s. She is a deep yellow and has been fully customized to fit me (more on that in another post). Now I should have a BIG techinical introduction to display my authenticity as a motorcycle rider, BUT I will save all that for a later post… when I have help from my DH.
